...hello dear lovelies!

When I can steal away into the studio,
I  work on these
~ cupcake cuffs ~
I love working with vintage roses
and I always wonder who loved them before I did!

I am lining them in silk
because I think your pretty little wrists deserve elegance
even if you can't see it!
I use a vintage mother of pearl button for the clasp,
they have the most dreamy color to them
~ and a sprinkle of muted sequins, sparkling crystals and freshwater pearls
...aaahhhh, romance on your wrist!!

and really
I don't mind being surrounded by
"these" cupcakes
as there are zero calories in them!
 good thing too ~
as I love them all!!!

...a little cottage guest room and the story of the false wall!

Hello dear readers
Here is a look at my mom's temporary room!!
Jim built a false wall for me...

and why would I need a false wall
 you ask?
(for the sake of this post, you asked!)

Well, without going into the "t-m-i" zone on the meter reader
(too much info)
let me just say that

we have been trying to move back home with our families in Ohio
for a while now
(almost 2 years!)
we've been here for 7 years,
and although it doesn't seem like a lot of time
look at your child
and zoom reeaallly fast in your mind
 back to 7 years ago!
yah!
alot of life are in those 7 little years!
moving on ~
~  because the housing market in Nevada in like one of the worst,
early last year,  we made the decision to sell our lovely, 3200sq. foot home
(complete with a guest bed and bath room!)
(important detail alert there, I promise!)
thinking that we would rent a home instead
kinda like a no strings attached thinking
...
and that we'd be ready to bounce
 at a moments notice
...
are you still with me?

I know

but I have a point

honest I do!

any way

in a nut shell ~
we did sell,
less than half of what we bought it for
heart broke
swallowed hard
 ~ enough said!

moving on
through the kilning process of life!!
(curious though, am I at least bronze yet?! HA!!)

fast forward to now ~

we are temporarily in a rental home of 1800sq. foot!!

YEP!

you read that right

aahhhhh....

do you see my dilema NOW??!!

Honestly,
we thought we"d only be here for 6 months
okay 8 months tops!
this was only supposed to be T-E-M-P-O-R-A-R-Y situation!
as in gone, baby, GONE!
and ideally,
living in a lovely farmhouse somewhere in the northeast
feeding a few chickens
(what?! I'm just thinking of Belinda here!)
with roses and peonies and lavender growing everywhere....
ahhh
earth to Rosemary
focus!

needless to say
God OBVIOUSLY has other plans!
(and strangely, it is well with my soul!)
 ~
so here we are
in our very COZY rental home,
in need of a guest room
soooo
what's a girl to do?
well
look outside of the box of course
(which gets me in trouble most of the time!!)
and ask hubby of mine
to construct this false wall!!!
(by the way ~ awesome job honey!!
meatloaf and mashed potato's for you tonight
I know, but it's one of his favorites!!:)

now, where were we...

oh right,
 the false wall ~
 meaning,
not really a wall,
as in, it only appears to be a wall
'cause you
 can't attach it to anything
it's a rental, kinda wall!

wwwhhhheeeeeeww!
If you're still with me
hugs! :)
but I'm loving this false wall that
magically deliciously
 turned our dining room
into
a happy little cottage room for my dearest mom!!
(can't wait mom!! only 8 more days)
I made a ruffle slipcover shade light,
complete with sweet little wings ~
perfect for dreaming

and this lovely china cupboard armoire
that's been cleared out
for her pretty little self's stuff!!

I'd like to share that
through this,
I have learned
that we don't really own anything in this life
other than how and what we choose to fill our souls up with
and that anything outside of that is a gift
things and stuff come and go.
To just do the best that we can
to keep moving forward
and to graciously continue seeking up
every single day!
and know that this waiting time in our life
well,
simply that
this too shall pass!
~
thanks for reading
your support means alot!

this now concludes the reason for
the false wall!!
If you haven't already put your name in for my giveback,
you may still do so,
I will announce the winner tomorrow afternoon
and announce
another little giveaway!!
spoiler alert,
can we say french lapin?!

until then ~

I'm very curious as to what you could do with them!

she will be arriving next wednesday, it's been awhile since she has visited!!

...robin egg blue, with a touch of lace

Happy Thursday!!

 Miss Mannequin,
my lovely modeler of pretty outfits,
is actually from the wedding boutique that my wedding dress came from!
She has a beautiful fluerished, iron base that is just lovely.
The bridal shop was getting rid of all their vintage mannequins one day ~
(can you imagine?)
My mom was with me that day,
so we bought two,
one for her
and one for me!!
major score!!

Anyway ~

She is trying on some spring transition outfits for me.

Here,
she has on the tried and true denim jacket
over a hand dyed vintage slip.
She suggested that I wear this
 with some skinny jeans
and a cute pair of heels.
as you really can't put jeans on Miss Mannequin ~
due to that darn pole!
hhhmmm
maybe I should get in touch with one of
Old Navey's "let go" mannequins ~ ha,ha! lame!!
no offense Miss Mannequin,
you know you will always be my favorite!!

moving on

Look at these fabulous flats ~

I know, right ~
I found these
at Tuesday Morning's!
You just never know what's in there!!
I was there for beautiful towels for my moms visit.
I'm looking for that robin egg blue color
as I have prepared her room in that beautiful shade!!
But
when I spied these,
I knew they were coming home with me too!!
I love the lace overlay,
as I am a textural kinda girl!

That's all for now...
Oh
wait
I haven't forgotten about a fresh, new giveaway!!
I will be post about that in the next day or two
so be ready!!
If you like standing bunn's
sorry,
rabbits,
bunn's my nickname for Jim! ~ HA!
you're going to want to enter!!
Have a happiest Thursday!!
until then...

...these boots were NOT made for walking!!!!

Hello dear readers!!
I've been very busy
(who hasn't been - right?!)

I've been  getting ready for my very bestest friend ~
she's coming for a visit in TWO weeks!!!
SSSSOOOOOO
much to do
and so little time to do it!!
anyway ~
I've been "knee deep"
(remember this phrase, your going to need it later on!)
in my

CLOSET!!!!!

what???
Did I miss something?
How or why I started in there
I'll never know!
I guess I'm going to blame it on Sissie
Yes you Sissie,
If you hadn't shown us what was inside that anthro bag
I wouldn't have walked into my closet
to see what pretty little things were hiding in there to pull out for spring!!
but
secretly hoping
that I couln't find any thing hiding,
 which meant
that I simply just had to get myself to that anthro store!
('cause that pink ruffle tank was just soooo cute!)
But really Sissie
THANK-YOU
it was the nudge I needed!
uuuuhhhhmmmmm
did I also
 mention
that
my bestest friend
is
my
mom?!
So yah ~
no pressure there
right?!
Anyway
back to the point of all this!!
Did you see those pink boots at the very top were you started?
aaahhhhhh
yah
THOSE
were
in
the
very
back part of my closet!!
I swear I never bought those hot pink over the knee boots
no
not me
Lucy from the lion, the witch and the wardrobe must have stashed them in there!!!
but you all love me right?!
I can tell you anything right?!
Your suddenly not going to ban me from all your lovely blogs
turn your backs
and
not visit me anymore because of the secrets in my closet right?!
'Cause I want you to know
I am not that girl today!
I said to myself
self ~
WHAT were you thinking?????
I think I must have been feeling reaaaalllly zesty that day
or
maybe that was the day I thought I'd might like to take
that pole dancing exercise class
(for Jim of course!!)
(okay, I get bored running in place, and pedaling on a bicycle going no where!
and surly I wouldn't be bored in that class!)
But
I've come to my senses
phew!!
and those are definately in the to go pile!!
(I would be happy to send them to any of you would like them
just in case you did sign up for that class and are thinking
what AM I going to wear!!)
(oh ~ the size
right
they are a size 8, never been worn, I swear!
and pull way up over your knee
and zip on the inside part of your leg!)
HA!!!
But really
if you are interested
I wouln't think any less of you
only that
you
were
just
like
me!!!

Friends?!

...in the land of odds

...good afternoon

This is my very special chicken, belinda ~
She lays eggs that have little pink crowns stamped on them!
(another enchanted secret from behind the curtain!)
~ and quite frankly,
wouldn't you expect that from a crown wearing chicken?!
uuummmmm....May I ask you,
Do you think
maybe
that
if you were driving by a lovely little farm cottage
and these were for sale
that you would purchase a few?
hhhmmmmmm
and if you were to purchase them ~
would you also
make
a
tasty
omelet
using THESE eggs?!
....I was just wondering ~

go ahead

Put your nose up to the screen and ssmmmeeeeellll...
no ones looking,
I promise!!

come on...
admit it ~
You know you want a bite of this tasty goodness!
Well
Today is another recipe share day
'cause I'm random like that!
that,
and this recipe is sooooo goood
It begs to be shared!!
So
fire up your pans,
here it is:

~ Almond crusted French Toast ~
* 8 large eggs
* 1 cup half-and-half
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
* 2 pinches salt
* 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, ground or freshly grated
* 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
* 3 cups corn flakes, lightly crushed
* 1/2 cup sliced almonds, lightly crushed
* 4 tablespoons butter
* 12 (1 1/2-inch-thick) slices challah bread or soft "Italian" style bread
* Medium or dark amber maple syrup to pass at table
* Mint sprigs and edible flowers, suggested plate garnish

~ Fancy Fruit Topping ~

* 1 pint raspberries
* 1 pint blackberries
* 2 tablespoons sugar
* 1/4 cup orange liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Arrange bacon on slotted broiler pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and place in oven to bake until crisp, 20 to 22 minutes.
Preheat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
In a shallow dish, beat together with a wire whisk: eggs, half-and-half, vanilla, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon. In a second shallow dish combine flakes and nuts. Add 2 tablespoons butter to warm skillet. Place a cookie sheet lined with foil (for easy clean-up) near the stove. Coat 4 to 6 slices of bread in egg, depending on the size of your skillet, then coat bread in cornflakes and nuts. Cook slices 2 minutes on each side and transfer toast to cookie sheet. Repeat with remaining slices and transfer toast to oven. Bake 10 minutes, with already cooking bacon.

While bacon and toast are in oven, combine fruit, sugar and liqueur in a serving bowl and reserve.
Remove toast and bacon from oven. Warm syrup in a small pitcher in microwave 15 seconds on high. Serve toast and bacon on plates with optional garnish of mint and edible flowers.
Pass syrup and topping at the table.
I also like to have a mimosa with my happy spring breakfast!

This concludes deliciousness Sunday

Enjoy ~

p.s. on a side note,
I am working on a
very special
spring giveaway
I think you are going to love!
